Donna Karan

Donna Karan’s new, Spring 2015 collection copies off of each other, borrowing patterns, but transferring them in different colors. These pieces are playful, and they bring all four seasons into this unique Spring collection with the darker, deep colors mixed with the bright, funky colors of warmer weather. This collection from DKNY is definitely original, and participates pattern with color perfectly.

Topshop UK's Unique First Look

photo from Topshop.com
While New York is having a fabulous fashion week, London is also having a fabulous fashion week. Normally, the high fashion brands included in fashion week give their insiders attending Fashion Week the first look. Topshop went about debuting their new Autumn 2014 (UNIQUE AW14) collection on Facebook before showing their front-row insiders. Topshop UK felt it was a "real revolution" according to Lauren Miligan from Vogue UK. Topshop also had five key Instagrammers documenting the styles for the social media's first look. A unique way to give a reveal for a unique show.

Diane Von Furstenberg

The woman behind the simple, go-to wrap dress is Diane Von Furstenberg. She first designed the wrap dress back in 1974, wanting to design a dress for the working woman. This woman's back story is incredible, with marrying a prince, than later divorcing the prince, and all the while working hard to create her brand to what it is today. Diane plays with pattern in her iconic dresses, making them for casual events, to a glittering gown that can be seen on the red carpet. Many style icons from the around the world wear Diane's dresses, such as the very well dressed Duchess Kate, Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna, and the model Karlie Kloss showing off one of Diane's newest dresses on the runway at New York Fashion Week. This hard working woman is now the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA). What an honor, and what a title.
